Coconut Sour Cream Cake

From Jankowski Family Recipe Box 

Ingredients 

1Butter Flavor Cake Mix
2 CupsSugar
1 16 ozSour Cream
12 ozFlaked Coconut 
1 1/2 CupDream Whip

Directions 

Prepare Cake Mix as directed, after cake has baked and cooled split each layer into four pieces.  Slice layers in half with a piece of thread.  Mix for filling between layers, the Sugar, sour cream and flaked coconut.  Reserve 1 cup of filling.  Layer cake and filling.  Mix the reserved filling with dream whip, mix and frost cake.  Refrigerate for 3 days (yes that is what it said) in a tight cake container.
