Beef Burgundy

From Jankowski Family Recipe Box 

Ingredients 

2 SlicesBacon Chopped1/4 tspMarjoram
2 Pounds
Sirloin Tip or Round Steak cut into Cubes
1/4 tspThyme
1/4 CupFlour1/4 tspPepper
1 tspSalt1 CloveGarlic - Minced
1/2 tspSeason Salt1 CubeBeef Bouillon Cube - Crushed
1 PoundFresh Mushrooms -Sliced1 CupBurgundy Wine
2 TbspCornstarch - optional

Directions 

In a large skillet or slow cooking pot with browning unit.  Cook bacon several minutes.  Remove bacon and set aside.  Coat beef with flour and brown on all sides.  Combine steak, bacon drippings, bacon, seasonings, bouillon and burgundy wine in slow cooking pot and cover.  Cook on low 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender.  Turn control to high, add mushrooms and cook on high 15 minutes.  Thicken if desired by dissolving cornstarch in 2 Tbsp water and mushroom.
