Beer Bread

Ingredients 

 1 Cup              Sifted Self Rising Flour 
 1/4 Cup          Sugar 
12 oz  Beer 
 1 stick      margarine 

Directions 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees, and grease bread pan.  Sift 3 cups flour into a bowl, mix in the sugar and beer..  Pour batter into bread pan, melt butter.  Pour melted  butter over the batter and bake for 1 hour.  

Story behind this recipe:  In the beginning stages of the Pandemic where we sheltered in place, bread was hard to come by.  I found this recipe and it made a delicious hearty bread.  FYI, if you do no like the crusty nature of bread, add the margarine to the batter.
