Carol Webster's Sliced Baked Potatoes

Mary Roth, thank you so much for sharing this family recipe

Ingredients 

4 largePotatoes1/2 tspSalt
2 ClovesMinced Garlic1/2 tspThyme
1/4 CupButter - meltedto tastePepper
1/4 CupSalad Oil

Directions 

Preheat oven to 400, cut unpeeled potatoes into 1/4 thick slices.  Place overlapping in a greased casserole dish.  In a small bowl combine butter, oil and brush the potatoes, pour the rest over the potatoes.  Sprinkle with the garlic, salt and thyme.  Bake 25-30 minutes or until they are browned and tender.  
Serves 4-5

Lemon Lush

Ingredients 

1 1/2 sticksMargarine - Softened1 CupCool Whip
1 1/2 CupFlour2 3 ozInstant Lemon Pudding
8 ozCream Cheese - Softened1 tspLemon Juice
1 CupPowdered Sugar3 CupMIlk
Directions 

Mix the softened margarine with flour and pat into a 9 by 13 inch pan. Bake at 375 for 15 min.     Mix together cream cheese (softened) and powdered sugar, add 1 cup of  cool whip, spread on cooled crust.  Mix the instant lemon pudding, lemon juice, and milk, beat as directed on package.  Spread on 2nd layer, top with remaining cool whip.  Refrigerate.

Uncle Jerry Orton's Taco Soup

Ingredients 
1 PoundGround Beef1 CanWhole Kernel Corn
1 CanPinto Beans1 CanCream Style Corn
1 CanRanch Style Beans1 CanRotel - diced
1 EnvelopeTaco Seasoning1 PkgRanch Dressing Mix

Directions 

Brown ground beef, then drain.  In a large pot add ground beef, pinto beans, ranch style beans, whole kernel corn, cream style corn, can of rotel  diced tomatoes and a couple of cans of water.  Stir well. Add an envelope of taco seasoning and the ranch dressing mix.  Bring to a boil and simmer 30 min.

Ingredients 


1 Pkg
Duncan HInes Moist Deluxe Butter Cake Mix
2 8 oz PkgsCream Cheese
3/4 CupWalnuts1 CupBrown Sugar
3/4 CupMelted Butter3/4 CupWalnuts

Directions 

Preheat oven to 350, grease and flour a 9x13 pan.  Combine Cake mix, walnuts, and butter.  Press into bottom of pan.  Combine cream cheese and brown sugar, spread evenly over crust and sprinkle with  chopped walnuts.  Bake 25-30 min until edges brown and cheese sets.  Cool.

Raw Apple Cake

Ingredients 
2 CupSugar3 CupsFlour
2 tspCinnamon2Eggs
1/2 tspSalt4 CupsChoped Apples
2 tspBaking Soda1 tspVanilla
1/2 CupOil
Frosting
4 TbspButter (Softened)2 tspVanilla
8 ozCream Cheese (Softened)1 1/2 CupPowdered Sugar


Directions 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease a 9 by 13 inch pan.  Mix sugar, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, and flour.  Add the eggs and chopped apples. Stir in the vanilla and cooking oil.  Bake 1 hr at 350 degrees.
 Frosting  Combine the butter, cream cheese, vanilla and powdered sugar, beat well.  Frost cake when it has cooled completely.  

Butter Horn Puffs

Ingredients 
1/2 lbButter - Softened
1 lbCottage Cheese
1/2 tspSalt
2 CupsFlour
Frosting
4 1/2 TbspSugar
2 TbspWater
2 1/2 CupPowdered Sugar
2/3 CupButter (Softened)
1Egg
1 TbspVanilla

Directions 

Mix the butter, cottage cheese, salt and flour well, chill over night.  Divide dough into 3 parts, roll out like pie crust.  Cut each round into 12 triangles.  Roll from large to small end.  Bake on greased cookie sheet 20-25 min. at 375 degrees.
Frosting:  Boil the sugar and water together then cool, Beat powdered sugar, softened butter, egg and vanilla then add to cooled sugar mixture.  and beat 2-3 min. more.  Frost puffs

Almond Bars

Ingredients 
Crust
2 CupFlour
1/2 CupPowdered Sugar
1 CupButter - Softened
Filling
8 OzCream Cheese - softened
1/2 CupSugar
2Eggs
1 tspAlmond Extract
Frosting
2 CupPowdered Sugar
1/4 CupButter - Softened
2 TbspMilki
1 tspAlmond Extract

Directions 

Crust Combine the flour, powdered sugar and butter, blend and pat into a 9 by 13 pan bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. 
Filling Beat together the cream cheese, sugar, eggs and almond extract, pour over cooked crust, bake another 25 minutes at 350 degrees
Frosting Beat together the powdered sugar, softened butter, milk and almond extract.  Wait for the bars to completely cool before frosting.
